Dr. Mandrola I have been following you since 2019 when a family member had a heart attack and I found your website on heart related issues. Not only was it informative on the substance of heart damage i found your insights and thoughtful approach to practicing medicine to be a breath a fresh air. Not interventions for the sake of interventions. Then when Covid hit and you joined Sensible Medicine you and your compatriots were a guiding light in a sea of controversy and confusion. All I can say is thank you for taking your time to educate all of us all these years. And now that same family member faces electrophysiology issues so I am once again reading your excellent resources to educate myself. All I can say is a huge thank you.

Impressing and inspiring! Live long and prosper, as Spock would say (actually, a very logic wish, though I would add ”healthy”)

I have been an avid reader of your work since 2012 when I first noticed your column on medscape/heart.org. It has been appointment reading ever since.

It is truly humbling when a sub specialist has a far better grasp of the general cardiology literature than a generalist like me. And it inspires me to read more and think harder about the evidence and how I apply it.

I am grateful to have access to all the venues on substack where you share your thoughts. It has been a welcome reprieve to find a source of learned medical conservatism in the face of increasing jingoism and groupthink even among the world’s preeminent cardiology societies.

And it is interesting to note that you must have more hours in a day than I do. Your ability to keep so many balls aloft, each at a high level, is impressive.

I will end with a tidbit. As “thought leaders” go, to whom you often allude, as far as my cardiology group is concerned, the ultimate seal of approval is measured by “what would Mandrola say”. Thank you very much for your work.

Hi Dr Mandrola! I am a cardiology PA and listen to your podcast every week and LOVE it! My supervising MD and good friend got me tuned into your podcasts a couple years ago. We discuss it all the time and how it helps break through the spin of a lot of these studies and how to really analyze study data. On one podcast a year or so ago you said something I frequent repeat about how we need more parks not more cath labs in regard to focusing on prevention. I try hard to incorporate exercise and the outdoors/appreciating and protecting nature with patients. With the recent headlines on wildfire smoke leading to increase risk of afib/heart disease and some more data on plastic hoping there will be some data on climate and pollution/plastics that will be pertinent for discussion on your podcast. Thank you for all you do and we are big fans!!
